Does Enterprising Web Design offer eCommerce websites?
Yes, Enterprising Web Design can build a custom designed eCommerce website for you whether you want to sell services
or have an online store. Your online store will grow with your products being offered. You can list one item, fifty items, five hundred items or more.
How do I accept payments for my products and services purchased online?
You will need a merchant account, authorizer and a secured website. If you already are set up with a merchant account
and authorizer we will work with you and them to incorporate this with your website. If you do not we suggest starting out with PayPal*. PayPal is widely accepted
as a safe and easy way to send and received money. When a customer goes to 'check out' their cart total will be directed to PayPal where they complete the
transaction. You will have access to a transaction report.
What about shipping, how do I charge for shipping on my products purchased?
With an eCommerce website from Enterprising Web Design you can set both a base shipping rate and shipping rates per item
or both. This allows you many options. If you sell only light items you may decide to set a base shipping rate only. If you sell both light and heavier items you might
decide to set a base shipping rate and set a per item rate on just the heavier items. You might find that just setting a rate per item and having no base rate
works better for you.
What is a secured website?
A secured website is a website that is setup with a SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate encryption. This assures your
prospective customers that your website was validated by a trusted third party and that their credit card and other sensitive information passing over the
internet on your website are secure.
Does my website need to be secured?
Since consumers are encouraged not to enter their credit card information on a website that is not secured we recommend
having a secured website if you want them to complete the sale on your website. If you use PayPal the customer does not enter their credit card information on
your website so a secured website is not necessary.
How much would it cost to secure my website?
The SSL Certificate needs to be purchased and maintained by the web host. The charge for a secured site would be included
with your yearly web hosting and includes the certificate and dedicated IP. Enterprising Web Design will work with DMT Hosting to set this up for you if needed
and can inquire the current cost.
